OUR BUSINESS CONCEPT
Category knowledge
A true forte for CHS is our knowledge of categories. For several of our customers, we run entire categories from start to finish, including delivery, stocking and in-store display and marketing. In effect, the category in question functions as a self-sufficient – and profitable – entity within the store. Our customer leaves the category up to us, and we make sure everything runs smoothly.
Store dynamics
CHS knows the retail business inside and out. We draw on solid, hands-on experience from every part of the supply chain, from production to consumer behaviour. Therefore we can assist in each detail of the process, be it picking out the product line most likely to sell, finding which type of packaging serves our customers best or the right kind of in-store product display.
Our range of brand-name products is based on that same knowledge. As long as a product combines functionality and quality at a reasonable price, we know how to bring it home to the end consumer.
Marketing & category management
We build our business relationships on close, long-standing partnerships, in regard to both customers and suppliers. To us, traditional advertising is not a high priority. Instead we rely on the good name of the store that carry our product. This way, we can focus on functional, visible product displays and simply let the quality and price of our products speak for themselves. By conducting frequent store checks and keeping an eye on trends, we also stay up-to-date with any new development within marketing.
Some of our customer relations have evolved more than others. CHS is now an active partner in the development of entire categories, serving our customers with our know-how and experience. Other aspects of this involve in-store demos, developing new packaging, value packs, campaigns, etc. This has been most evident for shaving products. Some chains almost exclusively carry their own, private-label alternatives – and the demand for category management increases by the day.
We have a constant ongoing process of evaluating our customers planograms to ensure that we have the optimal assortment in the shops.
Delivery process & logistics
Our customers rely on and expect a very high level of service. To meet their demands, we have different solutions for different customers. From delivering direct to each store, to delivering to one major warehouse. We continually work to find logistic synergies and ways to reduce transport in general. For instance, when possible we combine road and rail transport to minimise cost and exhaust.
